Food Bank
Having in view the social and economic implications of the continuous inaccessibility of sufficient food for many Canadians, HHI and SACHSS decided to work together to establish a food bank to meet the needs of vulnerable members of our community.
HHI and SACHSS started the outreach program in December 2021 and we are very grateful to Iqbal Foods, one of the largest halal meat and ethnic foods stores in Mississauga for their generous donations of dry grocery items.
Food, shelter and clothing are laid in the bottom of human needs pyramid because no survival is possible without these pre-requisites of human life. For the survival, safety and growth of the inhabitants of our planet earth; many individuals and organizations are working according to their interest, resources, knowledge and skills around the globe.
Recent studies show that many Canadians including elderly, adults and children do not have an access to two times meal let alone the healthy meal. Along with many other factors, COVID-19 has played a significant role in the food industry around the world and less availability and affordability are the major after-effects of this pandemic.
